A key figure in contemporary dance in France, Christine Gérard has been conducting research, both pedagogically and choreographically, for over thirty years. Involved in the beginnings of contemporary dance in the 70s, she founded in 1974 with Alex Witzman-Anaya the company ARCOR in which she created more than forty choreographies from 1975 to 2015.
She mainly performed with J. Robinson, F. and D. Dupuy, with S. Buirge. Between 1970 and 1980 she also danced for F. Verret, L. Macklin, J. Pomares, A. Witzman Anaya. She danced for D. Dobbels in Sans connaissance and L’écart the the solo Un temps rare in 2008. From 2012 to 2014 La jeune fille et la mort of T. Lebrun. From her taste for transmission, she organized regular courses for professionals in Paris from 1981 to 1989. After obtaining her teacher’s degree in 1989, she taught for 22 years at the CNSMDP. She has directed numerous national and international courses. Recently she is involved in training and creation projects at Micadanses, CND, RIDC and Espal.
